#Dlium Kemboja or Bali flower or temple tree or red frangipani or frangipani (Plumeria rubra) is a plant species in the Apocynaceae shrub or small tree with a height of 2-8 meters, thick succulent stems and blunt branches like sausages, thin and gray skin. ash, white or red or yellow flowers with a very fragrant.

P. rubra has brittle branches which, when broken, ooze a white sap and mucous membrane. Latex is toxic, but not lethal unless present in large quantities. The leaves are green, elongated oval with a sharp tip, 30-50 cm long, arranged alternately and in groups at the ends of the branches.

Terminal flowers at the ends of the branches, 5 petals, often profuse and very fragrant in the morning and evening. Flowers are bright red to white with shades of yellow in the center. Initially tubular before opening and 5-7.5 cm in diameter. The fruit is a cylindrical pod, measuring 17 cm and containing 20-60 winged seeds.

This species generally inhabits hot, rocky areas with dry to moderate rainfall where it can flower on bare branches or in more humid conditions where it can remain green. This plant is also found in rocky forests, mountain slopes and savannas with an elevation of 500-1500 meters.

This species has fulvoplumierin, an antibiotic that inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This herb has also been shown to be antifungal, antiviral, analgesic, antispasmodic and hypoglycemic. This plant is also reported to contain agoniadin, plumierid, plumeric acid, cerotinic acid and lupeol. Stems have alkaloids called triterpenoids.

Flowers are used for necklaces or tucked in the ear as an offering to the gods or as a coffin decoration. Flowers are used to make perfume, scenting coconut oil. Flowers and bark are used to treat fever, bacillary dysentery, pertussis and so on. The leaves are used for wound care and made into a soothing infusion.

These herbs have been known to improve digestion and excretion, along with respiratory and immune function. The sap is used as a laxative, a remedy for flatulence and colic. The bark is used as a laxative and to treat genital sores. The flowers are boiled in water or juice and made into salads to promote bowel movement, urine flow, control gas and phlegm. Flowers are also used in the treatment of asthma.
