Actually, first a note on the source. Gauguin was a friend of van Gogh, whose influence may not have been that friendly. He's also problematic for some other unseemly reasons. So let's just pretend it wasn't him that said this.

Here's something someone said, it doesn't matter who. "Be wild two hours a day." Be wild two hours a day!

The clash in this short sentence between supposed Type A and Type B personalities is jarringly spectacular.

Be wild! For two hours a day. It's like telling some people to take it down a notch, be wild, but only for a little bit. But mostly, I think it's telling people to ramp it up. Be wild, be yourself, for 120 minutes today. That's going to work out to a full month of your selfness over the course of a year.

That seems feasible, right? Especially since the two hours can happen while you're doing other stuff, too. Be wild at the gym, go all out. Be wild while you're making dinner, the kids are going to love it. And of course, be wild when you make stuff. Be wild two hours a day. It's like a blend of revolutionary but doable.
