Our journey began at the Patlian base camp, situated in the heart of the Himalayan wilderness. From the base camp, it takes about an hour of hiking to reach Patlian Lake, and the trail itself is a stunning experience. The path is lined with vibrant wildflowers and lush greenery, creating an enchanting atmosphere. With every step, we were surrounded by nature's untouched beauty, making the trek as memorable as the destination.

After about an hour of trekking, we reached Patlian Lake, nestled at an altitude of 12,500 feet (3,810 meters) above sea level. Despite visiting in August, we were amazed to find that nearly half of the lake was still frozen, creating a breathtaking contrast between the icy waters and the surrounding alpine scenery. The high elevation and cool temperatures give the lake its unique charm, making it feel like a hidden paradise frozen in time.

Patlian Lake is a hidden gem, ideal for those seeking adventure and serenity in the mountains. The trek offers not only the thrill of exploration but also the reward of witnessing one of the most beautiful lakes in the Himalayas. From the flower-filled trails and the majestic Patlian waterfall to the frozen beauty of the lake itself, this journey will leave you in awe of nature’s wonders at high altitude.
