FAVE: I played Kante for other artists, but they didn’t like it. The song was only for Davido.

In a recent interview with Tea with Tay podcast, Nigerian RnB artiste Fave shares the story of how her smash hit “Kante” with Davido came about.

According to Fave, Kante was a song she had written and recorded with her producer Damie, and decided to leave an open verse for, as she felt she needed a powerful collaboration to complete the track.

Initially called “Waist”, “Kante” was one of the songs Fave sent to Davido, after her reached out to her for a collaboration, with Fave mentioning that she had played the song for other artists who were not feeling it.
