BONJOUR! Peaking at 2,877 meters above sea level, the Pic du Midi offers a view of the entire Pyrenees. The splendor of the landscapes has been classified as a national natural site since 2003. RENOVATIONS TO IMPROVE ARE ONGOING.

We were the first group at 2pm to take the cable care up to the Pic du Midi. Each cable car allows 40 persons max which I thought were too many! From the ski village of La Mongie, the cable car reaches the Pic du Midi in 15 minutes in two separate cars. CAUTION the dips and the wind can cause the cable to sway OR DIP A BIT. Not for the faint hearted! Once you reach the destination the panoramic views are breathtaking. There are chairs to help you bask under the sun, a cafe with basic snacks and drinks and an instructional "areas" to help you learn more about the regional terrain. Unfortunately we reached the peak when the clouds surrounded us, nevertheless form what we witnessed, we were impressed.
