IMPORTANT UPDATE (July 2025): Hi Folks, I've been informed by the company that sells this that there needs to be 1ft/30cm of topsoil added back in on top of the clay to create the best seal. Even though I was lazy and I got away fine without this, other ponds with a different soil type may not work out so well. So please keep this in mind if you're using this as a guide. All the best.

Original text: I'm delighted to announce that I've just finished creating my 3rd pond for wildlife, using geosynthetic bentonite clay liner, and it has been a success so far. In this video, I compare my 2 previous ponds. the 1st was made with standard black polythene liner and the 2nd with no liner at all, opting to gley it with ducks. I then show how I used the GCL and bentonite clay dust to create this new pond, which should go a long way in helping to attract all manner of creatures to the centre of our no-dig permaculture market garden.
