For the one-inch filters over here, we recommend you change those about monthly. For the four-inch filters, we recommend about every three months.

It's really important to change your filter; If you don't, they could cause restrictions and cause issues with the system, such as causing the blower motor to fail early. Or you could even start to freeze up your coil, which could cause possible leaks.

Another reason is air quality. If you don't change your filter, these get filled up with dust and debris and then you start circulating all that through your system.

Some people have reusable filters. If you have a reusable filter, just kind of keep an eye on it and clean it as necessary.

Filters are pretty inexpensive if you get them through us. Each filter costs between seven to $15 depending on the efficiency rating of the filter, and the filter size.
