Shashi gets married to his maid cum friend Gauri as per the last wish of his uncle. They are blessed with a baby boy Ravi soon after Gauri finds out that Shashi has been meeting his ex-girlfriend, Krishna, regularly and refuses to pass her calls to him, as a result Krishna's ailing child dies forcing Gauri to leave the house. Shashi and Gauri bring up their children Ravi and Umakant separately on their own. They meet years later and try to find out as to who is a better parent?
