“Achyutam Keshavam” is believed to be a divine invocation — a powerful phrase made up of two sacred names of Lord Vishnu: Achyuta (the infallible one) and Keshava (the one with beautiful hair or the slayer of the demon Keshi). These names are often chanted in reverence to Lord Krishna, one of the most beloved incarnations of Vishnu.
The phrase gained widespread devotion through the popular bhajan. It praises various forms and lilas (divine acts) of Krishna — from his childhood mischief in Gokul to his wisdom in the Mahabharata.
