In biology, an organism is an individual entity that exhibits the properties of life. It is a synonym for ""life form"".

There are more than 20 lakhs living organisms living.
Organisms are classified by taxonomy into specified groups such as the multi cellular animals, plants, and fungi, or unicellular microorganisms.

How to Defining Life?
Five characteristics are used to define life.
All living things share these characteristics.

All living things:
1. are made of one or more cells.
2. need the energy to stay alive.
3. respond to stimuli in their environment.
4. grow and reproduce.
5. maintain a stable internal environment.

Now Let’s understand term Biodiversity.
Biodiversity
In simple words, you can describe as “Variety in Living Beings”.
Biodiversity or biological diversity means the variety of living organisms present in a particular region.

There are about 20 lac organisms know on the Earth which differ from one another in the external form, internal structure, mode of nutrition, habitat, etc.

Now, what is Taxonomy?
Taxonomy - It is a branch of biology which deals with identification, nomenclature, and classification of organisms. Carolus Linnaeus is called the father of taxonomy.
Classification of a living organism

The method of arranging organisms into groups or sets on the basis of similarities and differences is called classification.
