His 1984 solo album About Face reached number 32 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by the RIAA. As a member of Pink Floyd, Gilmour contributed to The Dark Side of the Moon, which has spent over 900 weeks on the Billboard charts and sold over 45 million copies worldwide. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
