#Light travels along a straight line in a transparent medium. But when it passes from one transparent medium (like air) to another (like water) its speed changes.The light that strikes obliquely to the surface of the second medium bends at the boundary between the two media. Whereas the light that strikes exactly perpendicular to the surface of the second #medium passes straight through it. This bending of light or change in the path of light while travelling from one transparent medium to another is called #refraction.
