My colleagues and I have had numerous discussions over the past weeks about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the uncertainty, ambiguity, and chaos it's caused, the changes we're experiencing in the way we work, the fears it triggers in us. And we've also been marveling at some of the amazing displays of humanity and leadership that we're seeing through this crisis, discussing what we're learning from this experience, how we can grow through this, and what we hope the world will be like post-COVID19.
In case it's a useful support for your own processing of this crisis, my colleague Dr. Alma Orts-Sebastian and I decided to share some of our observations and experiences of the impact of the current pandemic and to bring the lens of adult development/vertical development into the discussion.
We structured our discussion into four chapters:
Ch1 - exploring our responses to the seemingly simple question 'how are you?';
Ch2 - sharing some of our key observations of what it's been like to be in lockdown here in NZ for the past four weeks;
Ch3 - offering ourselves as case studies by reflecting on our own developmental experiences;
Ch4 - offering some tips/tools to help you grow through this crisis.
