⛄ This time last year we had a beautiful snowy winter, but not today. It feels like something between autumn and spring right now and I've been struggling to get into the Christmas spirit. I did not realise how the snow or at least proper cold weather is important for me to feel like Christmas.

🎄 But no despairing! With a help of twinkle lights, adding Christmas decor, Christmas cards, crafts & a proper movie, carols singing, I'll get there in no time :)

🦔 Dough Figurines from Vizovice
Flour - 250 g
Water - 150 ml
Mix and knead well (I heard someone say, one should knead the dough for an hour, but I did not manage that...). Then leave for 30 minutes under a moist towel. Make figurines out of the ready dough. Keep the dough you are not working with under the moist towel at all times, so that it does not dry out. Glue parts of the figurines together with a 'glue' - water and flour mixed together. (I forgot to do that and all the little legs fell apart...)
Place the figurines on baking sheet lined with baking paper, when done with the designs, let the figurines rest for 30 minutes, paint with an egg and then bake for 2 hours at 70°C (158°F) and then for 2 hours at 90°C (194°F) (or until they turn golden colour and harden). Leave in the oven until all cools.

🍊 Sicilian Oragne Salt
(makes eight 0,2 l glasses of salt)
3 cups of coarse sea salt
6 table spoons of non-chemically treated orange peel
Mix together & bake at 100°C (225 °F ) for about 70 minutes.
