Money is the number one cause of marital stress and often leads to divorce. In each episode financial expert and tough love dispenser, Gail Vaz-Oxlade, meets a family in desperate need of help. Some are on the verge of bankruptcy, hounded by creditors or facing eviction; others are barely getting by, but are in the midst of a personal or relationship breakdown because of money issues. With the sensitivity of a therapist and the toughness of a CFO, Gail takes control of the family’s finances for one month. She devises a strict budget and enforces dramatic changes. At the end of the month, we see if the couple gets back on track for a more solid financial future.
