Over Labor Day weekend on Saturday August 30th Grand Canyon Railway's 2-8-2 Mikado type steam locomotive 4960 pulled the Williams Flyer trains from Williams depot to the Grand Canyon National Park. It was the only steam powered run in month of August as the previous two scheduled trips were diesel powered due to elevated fire risks at the time. 4960 put on a brilliant show as the engine and train ran the 64 mile ex-Santa-Fe branch line to the Grand Canyon and return.
