A federal judge has denied Minnesota’s emergency request to pause a surge of federal immigration enforcement in the Twin Cities.

U.S. District Judge Katherine Menendez ruled the state failed to show that the federal government violated the law, saying blocking the operation would harm enforcement of federal immigration laws.

State officials argued the Trump administration unfairly targeted Minnesota as political retaliation, but the judge said the claims did not meet the legal threshold for an injunction.

The ruling is not a final decision on the case and does not determine whether specific enforcement actions were lawful.
