This piece started out life as a dedicated stereo cabinet with legs but it was only a shell of its former shelf by the time I got it. To give it a new life I converted the interior cabinets into adjustable shelving, added a custom set of 4 way tapered legs, and performed a full restoration.

What I did:

Reveneered the top
Added 12 way adjustable shelving
Built a custom base from reclaim wood
Filled damage with @gorksgoodfilla pre mixed rosewood water based wood filler
Sanded the piece with @seriousgrit sanding pads
Sealed the piece with @Zinsser Sealcoat Dewaxed Shellac
Performed color touchups with @mohawkfinishing Blendals, powder stains, and graining pens
Sprayed toner (Zinsser sealcoat + Transtint medium brown dye) to even out the wood tones
Top coated the piece with @geminiindustries Evo clear – Satin Sheen
