Aditya’s journey started at St. Xavier’s College Mumbai, then went on to Manipal University and eventually an Erasmus Program that took him across Europe. In London, he is studying how DNA mutates to form cancer. Although he doesn't work directly with patients, but the questions he investigates are at the heart of how cancer develops; and how science can evolve to stop it.

After moving to London, he discovered that it was easier for him to hide his Indian identity rather than explain it to his peers, before realising that liberation lay in embracing his roots. After that revelation, Aditya embraces his history fully by cooking Indian food regularly, keeping up with Indian politics and Bollywood.

While the world of scientific academia brings its own set of challenges, it has also introduced him to a global community of collaborators. Being able to work in labs across the world has taught Aditya that science is borderless, and that there is deep fulfilment in being able to work in a field that allows you to contribute to a cause that affects every single life in the world.
