Looking to do something unique? Do you have a piece of furniture that has a lot of imperfections? Maybe it's a damaged veneer, or covered in deep scratches and dents.
Applying a texture paint finish is a ideal way to not only cover these problems but also adds a whole new design to your piece.
I love texture in general.
I actually did these a few years ago now and thought I would share the process.
First the usual.
clean, scuff sand and prime
I painted the entire pieces first in my top coat paint before adding the texture.
I used Pureco texture powder.
Mixed with water and my paint colour.
As seen in the video I also applied in a dabbing technique. I forgot to mention that it was a possibility that I may have also added in a little crackle product, also from Pureco.
It was such a a long time ago now.
Once it dried the texture did slightly settle more. And I may have applied another coat of the texture.
I did however apply a clear sealer over the entire piece for additional protection.
I have a full video of how I make my own jute pull handles. Slightly different to these ones here however it's not that difficult to figure out.
