Several years ago, I attended a talk by Catherine Steiner-Adair, author of "The Big Disconnect" (one of the first books to address the impact of screen use on children and family relationships).
One of the suggestions she made that really grabbed my attention was this question of "Which way do you roll in the morning?"
I had never thought about. But it was true— in the morning, I rolled to the phone on my nightstand. Not to the toddler who crawled into bed with us in the middle of the night. Not to my dog. Not to my husband. I reached for my phone.
Now, our phones don't live in our bedrooms. We use alarm clocks (another Tech-Intentional Tip of mine). And in the morning, we can roll towards what really matters.
The dog. (Just kidding! Kind of.) 🙂
