Starring Takasugi Mahiro! For those who want to give up on family... Takasugi Mahiro, Ito Marika, Fukagawa Mai, Ando Yuko, Mukozato Yuka, Yasuda Ken, and director Morigaki all come together from "Imaginary Dogs and Lying Cats"! A special "Fake Cat" roundtable video has been released!

This film revolves around the protagonist Yamabuki, played by Takasugi Mahiro, and tells the story of the Haneko family, who continue to support each other despite the constant lies they tell.

Ando Yuko plays the mother, Yukino, Mukozato Yuka plays the older sister, Beni, and Yasuda Ken plays the father, Jungo. Ito Marika plays Sato Rai, Yamabuki's childhood friend and future lover, and Fukagawa Mai plays Toyama Kanako, Yamabuki's first love.

This time, we have a "Fake Cat Roundtable" where they reveal behind-the-scenes stories from the filming of the film. The video unravels the behind-the-scenes details of filming, discussing "moving scenes" and "favorite scenes." Takasugi mentions the memorable bus scene, which has also been released in images.

"I really loved the bus scene after the funeral...Yamabuki is desperately trying to speak to Yori, but I love the feeling that everyone is watching and listening with their own emotions. I watched it thinking it was a tender scene," he confesses. He said that as a direct actor, he realized the kindness of a "family" that can only be experienced in the finished film, and everyone nodded vigorously in agreement. Perhaps inspired by Takasugi's words, the cast members one after another revealed their "moving scenes" and "favorite scenes." A harmonious conversation unfolded about the highlights of this film, which delivers warmth and gentle hope.

Yasuda, in particular, mentioned the scene that unravels the mystery of the "imaginary dog" in the title, praising Takasugi's performance, saying, "I thought his performance was truly great. It was like he flipped a switch there..." He continued, "That really explains what the fictional dog is. That was a wonderful moment, too." Not only did he reveal the mystery of the memorable title in the film, but he also revealed the deeply moving moment.

"Imaginary Dog and Lying Cat" will be released on January 9, 2026.
