I went to IISER Berhampur for some official work, got some time after work and went straight to Gopalpur sea-beach. Its an ancient, commercial port, now lying in ruins. It was established by a family for both a local fishing industry and a trade route with Burma.

Gopalpur is quiet and relaxed place but with one difference that it is one of India's most sought after beaches, with a charm of its own.

It took me 20 min from IISER Berhampur and paid Rs 1000 to taxi. You can even find regular bus.
