Necrotizing sialometaplasia (NS) is a benign, non-neoplastic, self-limiting, inflammatory condition primarily involving the minor salivary glands (especially the palate).
Its diagnosis requires prudence in terms of diagnosis, since its clinical and histopathologic features resembles malignant conditions like oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC).
