North Korea is the only country in the world with necrocracy - or ruled by a dead man. North Korea’s founding father, Kim Il-sung ruled from 1948 to his death in 1994. By the time he passed away, North Koreans had essentially worshiped him as a god. His body remains on display for people to see in a mausoleum. His position was left empty until 1998 when a constitution was amended to abolish the position of president of North Korea. This means that Kim Il-sung will be the eternal president of North Korea, or Eternal Leader. While his successor, Kim Jong-il did not receive the title of president. He is merely the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly.
