Industrial training is usually a 6 month term in the 2nd year of BHM(Bachelor of Hotel Mgmt). You have to approach Star hotels for the training and the Institute will also have referrals to place you for training at reputed hotels. Once you are absorbed and post-induction, you will be rotated in various departments like Front Office, Housekeeping,f&B Production, F&B service, banquets, Stores, etc.. for say maybe 3 weeks each to get a hang of the hotel operations. You may request HR to let you train in your favorite dept or the one you wish to specialize in during the last month to gain more knowledge in that specific dept.

During this period, you will be made to do a lot of errands and millennial jobs, cut and peel a lot of onions in the Kitchen, Work your butt off in Banquets, and Hotel Restaurants & Bar before you actually get hands-on training. Be prepared to face a lot of cuss words form demanding employees. Its all a part and parcel of the industry

All said and done, I don't mean to demoralize or demotivate you in any way whatsoever. At the end of it, you would have gained a lot more knowledge and know how’s of the hotel industry. If you create a good name for yourself during this phase and manage to maintain a good rapport with various dept heads, you may have a job-ready once you complete your course
