HOW TO SET UP GUT IMMUNITY?

IMMUNONUTRITION 2: SETTING UP GUT IMMUNITY - The Immune System in the Gut develops after breast feeding by interacting with one major species of bacteria called Bacteroides Infantis. While there are a few other bacteria that can make their way into the newborn’s intestine, this bacteria is uniquely able to digest the 150 different prebiotic carbohydrates in breast milk. Unlike other gut bacteria that share nutrition within a community, this bacteria is an “inside eater” using nine pumps to take up these many different carbohydrates, break them down and use them to grow. The immune system can now interact with this single species of bacteria and set up the processes necessary to interact with many other bacteria which will soon enter the gut after weaning when other foods will be introduced to establish the Microbiome with 1000 different species of bacteria. The foods setting up the Microbiome in childhood can affect your immune reaction to different foods most of which are tolerated as friendly, some can develop into food allergies. While Balanced Nutrition and a Healthy Active Lifestyle can change your Microbiome in a healthy direction, Breast Feeding starts the baby’s Microbiome in the right way and helps new Moms lose the extra fat that they gained with pregnancy !!
