We started our journey from Jahaz Banda early in the morning, around 8:30. As soon as we began the trek, I had a feeling the weather might not stay on our side. The sky was full of dark clouds and it really felt like rain could start any moment. But the trail was calling, and we kept moving, hoping we'd be lucky enough to stay dry.

Thankfully, most of the route stayed clear. The trail was peaceful, with nothing but fresh air, pine-scented wind, and the silence you only find in the mountains. After hiking for around 40 minutes, we arrived at Kund Banda. And to be honest, I wasn’t ready for what I saw.

Kund Banda felt like a painting that came to life. A wide, green valley surrounded by rolling hills, with the Nagan River flowing right through the center. This river comes from the Sartaj Waterfall side, adding a soft, musical sound to the already calm surroundings. Not far from the camping ground, there’s a huge waterfall. Some people call it Raja Waterfall, others say it’s Jahaz Banda Waterfall or Kund Banda Waterfall. It’s all the same place, and no matter what name you call it, it’s stunning.

The valley is located in the Upper Dir region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at an elevation of about 3,200 meters or 10,500 feet. The beauty here feels untouched, and unlike other popular spots, it’s still quiet and pure. When we arrived, I saw around seven camps already set up. There were two canteens open for tea and basic food, and one wooden hut still under construction. What I really loved is that anyone can camp here freely. You don’t need to pay anything. Just bring your own tent and find a peaceful spot.

If you're someone who looks for real nature, without filters and without crowds, Kund Banda is that place. It's not just about what you see. It's about what you feel when you’re standing there, far from everything.
