As a Filipino living in France and running a Filipino cooking channel, I am often asked where do I get the ingredients living in France for my Filipino recipes, luckily I have an Asian supermarket ( Asian grocery store) within half an hour from my home.

The Asian supermarket sells Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Indian and Filipino ingredients to cater for all Asian cooking.

As part of my Filipino life here in France I wanted to share with this blog my favorite Asian supermarket in Lanester, Brittany.

There is a second Asian supermarket ( Asian grocery store) just 10 minutes from this Asian supermarket but this is my preferred shop being more organized with friendlier staff.

Every Wednesday fresh vegetables arrive at the Asian supermarket to enable me to enjoy the fresh exotic ingredients for my Filipino recipes.

My Filipino life in France started in 2012 and as a Filipino living in France, being able to still purchase the ingredients that I love to make my Filipino recipes, went along way in making my new life in France as a Filipino successful in having the Asian supermarket so close.

French supermarkets simply do not sell many grocery items from other parts of the world - in France, the French buy French products and to be honest I admire the French in doing so as they are looking after their own economy.

Thankfully there are many Asian supermarkets throughout France catering for my needs be it more expensive.

Now I live in a rural part of France so if there are 2 Asian grocery stores close by to me, then my expectation is that there are Asian supermarkets throughout France.

France has a very large Asian community living and working in France plus the French themselves enjoy Asian cuisine so the Asian supermarkets are very popular.
