Momtaz Begum is a popular folk singer, producer and a parliament member of Bangladesh. She is considered as the “Folk Music Queen” around the country.
She had a fondness for music from childhood. she accompanied her father, first as an audience member, and soon after a co-performer as a child. The father and daughter used to perform on the stage in the different corner of the country. The kind of music she performed like, Marfati, Boithoki, and Murshidi can roughly be categorized in the mystic songs genre.
In her long career, she released more than 700 single albums. She is enlisted in the Guinness World Book of Records for releasing the highest number of albums. She performed many concerts across Bangladesh, UK and USA.
