concept:

this video is a retelling of hp with almost literal parallels drawn to snape, draco and to some extent voldemort.

while it is harry centric, it tells of the anguish felt by each of the other characters through the war. the only reason why harry could make it through was, as dumbledore says, love.

draco was loved immensely by his parents but it became his weakness as he couldn't decipher between right and wrong and perished.

his cowardice cost him.

severus loved so hard but it was this love which caused his one track mind to spiral into darkness and be swallowed whole.

his jealousy wasted him.

tom neither knew nor felt love. he had no family, no friends. he only had himself. and thus he became the darkness.

but his ambition ended him.

harry had love. harry had friends. harry loved.

it was love that saved him, love that strengthened him. it was love that saved him from the darkness.

harry felt loss, harry felt rage, harry felt sorrow, harry felt bitterness, harry felt despair.

so many opprtunities for him to be pulled into the abyss but he has always been hauled out by his friends who have his back however reckless the situation may be.

he may forget this sometimes, but they're always there for him. just like he would die for them, they would do the same. over and over. again and again.

he is not alone.

and so he was saved.

everyone has a chance at redemption. everyone has a choice. some take it, some don't.

the scars fade but remain. but they do fade.

and maybe, just maybe, for a split second, in or after his final moments, tom realised that his foolishness cost him his dream of immortality to be ironically reduced to a normal muggle lifespan.

first time using live action and colouring. it was a mess honestly. but ever since I saw episode four of riverdale and heard this song, I knew I just had to edit this. (yes I'm big time on the riverdale train. any of you others too? bc I'm thinking of editing riverdale too xD)

lots of potential storylines hidden in this vid actually.
