No Filter, No Fertiliser Aquarium After 545 Days

The Aquajar has been doing pretty well apart. Some plants are doing well while others like the Alternanthera Reineckii has perished after a period of vigorous growth. The Dwarf Hairgrass has been struggling due to lack of light which is understandable.
the Aquarium is home to a few shrimps and a snail at the moment. The snail helps to keep the glass clean and I have never had to clean the glass of this hydroponic cylinder.
I did some tests on the water which has not been changed for the past 5 months ( only topup when the level went down due to evaporation)
The TDS and temperature of the water is within acceptable range. The pH came out a bit high and was fixed to some extent after a water change. The Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrate levels all came out at zero which is a more than perfect scenario for such small setups.
There was some algae growth which I manually removed with my tweezers. I did a partial water change and proceeded to clear up the foreground by trimming some of the Crypts. The cleared up space was then filled up with a few plants which were tied to small pieces of stones to prevent them from floating up. The jar was filled up and a piece of the driftwood branch which had unfortunately broken during the maintenance process was placed inside the tank for now. I will probably teardown and rescape this tank soon but that will be another video. Thanks and watching!
