Sen. Moran Legislative Priorities Advanced Out of Committee:

S.275 - Veterans' ACCESS Act
Empowers veterans with more choices, information and control over their VA health care benefits.
Supports veterans at-risk of suicide or overdose by permanently establishing access standards for mental health residential rehabilitation treatment programs.
Expands the list of items that must be taken into consideration when considering whether it is in a veteran’s best medical interest to seek care in the community.


S.506 – Coordinating Care for Senior Veterans and Wounded Warriors Act
Establishes a pilot program to increase coordination of care for veterans who receive health care services through Medicare and VA.


S.800 – Precision Brain Health Research Act of 2025
Expands research into repetitive low-level blasts that veterans may have been exposed to in the military and its potential effects on various brain and mental health conditions.


S.879 – Veteran Caregiver Reeducation, Reemployment, and Retirement Act
Expands VA support for family caregivers of veterans as they transition into the workforce or retirement after their caregiving responsibilities have ended.


S.1139 – HOPE for Heroes Act of 2025
Expands and reauthorizes the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program to improve VA’s community outreach efforts to prevent and eliminate veteran suicide.


S.1318 – Fallen Servicemembers Religious Heritage Restoration Act
Creates a 10-year program within the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) to identify and conduct research on servicemembers who are incorrectly memorialized and locate and contact their surviving descendants to facilitate a grave marker change to properly represent their religious heritage.


S.2393 – Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act
Increases certain VA benefits including disability compensation, clothing allowances and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children to reflect the reality of increases in the everyday cost of living.
