India and the US are pragmatic allies, but that doesn’t mean there’s no room for spying on each other. And Ajit Doval knows when he’s being spied on. Back in 2013 he reflected on the incident, from the Indo-US Cyber Security Forum in 2006, when an American diplomat had to be expelled from Delhi for… spying. She was involved in a spy ring that was found to be leaking sensitive information from the National Security Council Secretariat.

Of course, India and the US still cooperate on security matters to this day. Ajit Doval doesn’t hold grudges. He does root out the American spies, though.
