A Planning Engineer has a pivotal role in delivering the construction projects on time. He develops strategies, determines material and labor costs, monitors crew performance, prepares project reports and keeps communications channels open. Planning engineers also interprets data, compile reports, and deliver presentations when required and acts as a decision-making point in projects.

Planning Engineer Responsibilities:

♦️Understanding project specifications from the necessary inputs and developing time schedules and budgets that meet them.
♦️Preparing Manpower Histograms and Resource Deployment Plan according to the Time Schedule created.
♦️Monitoring and tracking project progress and preparing the mitigation plan when needed.
♦️Preparing Weekly, Monthly Reports and Lookahead Plans and attending progress meetings.
♦️Reporting and Communicating with Management, Managers, Supervisors, and the rest of the team the status of the project from time to time.
♦️Preparing Issue Log and keeping a record of documents inside the project.
♦️Ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budgets.
♦️Preparing Extension of Time Analysis Reports when delays occur in projects.
