A new finish can make a big difference.

This piece conditionally wasn’t terrible but the original finish had faded and was obscuring the walnut wood grain below. In addition all the leg joints were loose which is very typical for complex leg designs.

The piece was fully disassembled, restored, and is now ready for its new home.

The process:

Reglued all leg joints with @titebond
Filled voids with wood filler and 2 part epoxy
Scraped with @bahco carbide scraper
Sanded the piece with @3mabrasives Cubitron sanding pads
Sealed the piece with @Zinsser Sealcoat Dewaxed Shellac
Color touchups with Mohawk blendals, powder stains, and graining pens
Sprayed toner (Zinsser sealcoat + Transtint medium brown dye) to even the color
Top coated the piece with @geminiindustries Evo clear – Satin Sheen Affiliate Link:
