UFC 328 delivered one of the best fights of the year as Joshua Van defended his flyweight title in spectacular fashion against Tatsuro Taira in a nonstop five-round war that ended with a dramatic late TKO. #UFC328 #MMA #UFC

In the youngest title fight in UFC history, the 24-year-old champion Van faced one of the toughest tests of his career against the undefeated Japanese contender. From the opening round, Taira used his grappling and pressure to slow the pace and control key positions on the ground, but Van’s striking quickly began changing the momentum of the fight.

Everything shifted late in Round 2 when Van cracked Taira with a massive right hand that nearly ended the fight. Taira survived the round, but the damage continued to pile up as Van unleashed combinations, body shots, and nonstop pressure over the championship rounds.

Despite Taira’s constant takedown attempts and toughness, Van stuffed 13 of 21 takedowns while dominating the striking exchanges throughout the fight. By Round 5, the punishment became too much, as Van overwhelmed Taira with another brutal flurry to secure the TKO stoppage in a Fight of the Year contender.

After the fight, Van praised Taira’s toughness while revealing his gameplan:
“He’s a tough motherf***er. My coach told me to attack the body and the finish would come.”

With the victory, Joshua Van continues his incredible rise as one of the UFC’s youngest champions and potentially sets up a future showdown with former flyweight king Alexandre Pantoja.
