Spread over 14.8 million square metres, Sultan Haitham City will have 20,000 residential units distributed across 19 integrated residential neighbourhoods.

The project, initiated a couple of years ago, is being developed in four phases. The first phase, featuring close to 7,000 housing units, is scheduled for completion by 2030, with the entire city expected to be fully delivered by 2045.

Upon completion, the city will house up to 100,000 residents, and include schools, places of worship, hospitals, a university and shopping centres.

AGBI speaks to Jamal Al Hadi from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning about Oman’s hopes for the new city.
