Hey, Mr. Cory Gardner

Reaching out to the Senator -- Why won't he come and talk to Front Range voters?

LYRICS:

Refrain:
Hey, Mr. Cory Gardner won’t you come to town?
There’s a lot of people here you should be talking to
Hey, Mr. Cory Gardner, word is going ‘round
That you’re scared of having Front Range voters
questioning you

We’ve been watching every day and we are quite upset
With our new cabinet, we think you didn’t vet them very thoroughly
You’ll have to be more careful about who you still confirm,
If you want a second term
You must deal with our concerns about your candidacy

We’d like to get to know you and to find out where you stand
On immigration bans, walling off the Rio Grande
And your thoughts about the plans for deportations
And what you might imagine could replace the ACA,
For folks who cannot pay
And have to choose between their health care and starvation?

Refrain:

Remember as our Senator you represent us too,
Not just the people who agree with every view that you have
trotted out
And you also must remember that one purpose of recess
Is so we can have access, to you
And hear how you’ll address the things that we care about

Now how could a candid get-together really be so bad?
It makes us very sad, that we have never had this conversation
But we’ll hold town meetings anyway and hope you have the guts
To come and talk with us, and try to earn our trust,
It’s a democratic must, but it depends on your participation

So we sing:
Refrain: Hey, Mr. Cory Gardner . . .

Words by Bill Wood, 2/21/2017, to the tune of Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, by Bob Dylan
