Here are my Top 5 Tips for traveling with kiddos.

1. Plan ahead and keep essentials handy
If you are flying, keep an eye on flight changes so you aren't needlessly waiting at the airport with your kids going crazy. 😅 If you need a passport, keep it safe, but easily accessible. You don't want to have to search for it at the check-in counter with all your bags, kids running around etc. Don't ask me why I'm mentioning this. 😆
2. Pack activities for the kids
Screens are #1 for us. I know this can often be a touchy subject so you do what works best for your family. For us, the iPad for our oldest is so helpful. Of course I pack a couple activities and a few toys, but we have the tablet and headphones available and use it as needed. Also, I would pack a ton in your carryon because the ultimate goal is that they sleep on a long plane ride or long drive and most of it goes unused.
3. If flying, book seats in the same row, straight across
This might sound obvious, but Ive seen it done other ways and it makes it a lot on us parents, but also other people on the flight lol
4. Use Travel Car Seats
If you are taking car seats, invest in car seats meant for travel. They are significantly lighter and sometimes come with bags which make it easier to check in.
5. Be Flexible and keep your expectations SUPER low
I promise, it's so much less stressful when we don't have these big expectations. Plus, I find when I keep my expectations low, I have an even better time because everything good seems extra fantastic. lol Traveling isn't always easy, nor is it fun for kids when they have to constantly sit still or be quiet and they are out of their element. I have found giving everyone extra grace (including myself) when traveling turns out to be so much more enjoyable for us all!
