A family wedding brought us out to Los Angeles so, naturally, I tried to find someplace to get underwater during the trip, and what better spot than the California coast and the kelp forests of Catalina Island? Even now that I'm back in FL, I'm still thinking about sitting on the ocean floor and looking up at the giant kelp towering overhead. It's also just really hard to process how orange Garibaldi fish are. It costs $90 roundtrip per person for the ferry, which isn't cheap, but it was definitely worth it to get to experience this incredible marine habitat.
