Christmas in Bow Barracks, the most significant community celebration of the festival, will be open to non-residents this year on some days. The festival will also be celebrated over a week unlike in 2020 and 2021 when it had to be curtailed due to the pandemic.

Bow Barracks, the Anglo-Indian enclave in the heart of central Kolkata, transforms into a carnival from the second week of December, with lights illuminating the entire neighbourhood and residents holding various celebrations every day. On some days, the festivities are open to everybody. On others, only residents of Bow Barracks can participate.

Visiting Bow Barracks on Christmas every year has become a must for many people across the city because of the carnival-like celebrations in the neighbourhood.
