The TikTok ban last month should be a wake up call for Aussie businesses.

The video has 3 lessons, but I'll elaborate on 2 here:

1. Avoid Channel dependency because you do not own your channels or your follower count.

Social media channels can be banned, as can individual accounts at the discretion of those social media platforms.

2. 20% of your posts should have an asset so good, people will exchange an email to get more details.

Number 2 is super important because it allows you to then nurture relationships independently of social media.

Because you can't switch off the ability to open a private CSV spreadsheet without first having to ban Google, Microsoft and Apple...and that will never happen because they bank roll the election campaigns of most of the Western World's law makers who write the laws in the first place.
