Every chance I get I get out and take dozens or even hundreds of pictures. It occurs to me that they lend themselves to poetic literature. These beautiful things surround us all, yet no one seems to notice. I am reminded of the words of Jesus in the Gospel of Thomas 113,
His disciples said to Him, "When will the Kingdom come?"
Jesus said, "It will not come by waiting for it. It will
not be a matter of saying 'Here it is' or 'There it is.' Rather,
the Kingdom of the Father is spread out upon the earth, and men
do not see it."
