Thrifted Bread Box Makeover | Milk Paint + IOD Vintage Transfer | DIY Farmhouse Decor

In this video, I’m taking a basic thrift store bread box—originally coated in a single layer of white paint with some serious bleed-through—and giving it a gorgeous vintage-inspired makeover! ✨

Using Sweet Pickins Milk Paint, I embraced all the natural chipping and crackling to give this piece that perfectly aged farmhouse charm. To block the bleed-through, I sealed it first with spray shellac—a total lifesaver for problem pieces like this!

I added dark waxes to deepen the color and bring out all those lovely cracks and chips, giving the finish some rich dimension. Then I used a bronze wax to highlight the edges and bring new life to the original hardware.

The cherry on top? A beautifully vintage-style IOD transfer on the glass that completes the antique look and gives it a unique, one-of-a-kind touch.
