When I interact with my Gymmers who sit a lot or use devices a lot, it is common for them to express that they suffer from pain in their neck, shoulders, and mid back.
A powerful strategy to reduce pain and stiffness is to improve how well the JOINT RECEPTORS in our spine function.
We improve receptor function by practicing using those joints correctly.
Your thoracic spine has two major functions: ROTATION & BENDING.
In this exercise, we are going to practice doing both.
KEYS to success in this exercise:
1. Slowly rotate trunk using the middle of your spine – pause.
2. Slowly lean to the side – pause when you are in a comfortable lean.
3. Slowly pull your trunk out of the lean.
4. Slowly rotate back to center of your body.
When you do this exercise right, you will greatly improve the motor control, core strength, and pain levels in your body.
