In this 2-minute video, I show you how to set up the ability to write ideas down for your students to see with your cell phone while staying visible on the Zoom meeting with your computer. What do I need to execute this idea? A cell phone camera, your computer, an extra light, paper (I am using 8.5x11), sharpies in bold colors, and something to keep your phone stable (masking tape can work too). You will have both devices (computer and cell phone) logged into your Zoom meeting and you will have two screens going at the same time. It's easier than you think!

Accessibility: Write clearly and with bold colors. Save your notes as images to be shared with your students. These images (jpegs) can be sent directly to the class or shared in your community notes page where any non-text cues in the images are described textually (e.g., concept A and concept B are connected with an arrow). Images are great, but not accessible if non-text cues are not described.

SSE is based in Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute. The project was launched in 2011 by Nobel Laureate Dr. Lee Hartwell. SSE’s model is based on the idea that in order to achieve a sustainable future, educators must systematically teach sustainability topics, problems, solutions, and divergent thinking in their classrooms at the elementary and middle school levels.
