On October 16, 2025, at the bustling Victoire roundabout in Kinshasa, a violent bank robbery at Rawbank threw the capital into chaos. Five armed individuals — including a woman, Honorine Porche — stormed the brand-new Rawbank Victoire branch. Warning shots, panic, customers dropping to the floor, security gates slamming shut: within minutes, the situation spiraled. One of the robbers shouted commands; cash registers were emptied, vaults demanded. Outside, Matonge erupted: “Braquage na banque!” Sirens blared. Police and army units (PNC/FARDC) locked down the area and launched a swift assault. All five suspects were subdued. No casualties. The alleged leader, Honorine Porche — later identified as a German citizen of Congolese origin — was arrested.
But the “Rawbank Case” didn’t end there.
Honorine’s arrest spiraled into a public humiliation, filmed by dozens of phones: viral videos, national outrage, human rights uproar, and a diaspora in turmoil. Quickly, the fallout crossed borders: a statement from the Minister of Human Rights, suspensions within the 14th Military Region, a presidential address, and a diplomatic note from the German Embassy in Kinshasa. In a matter of hours, this botched robbery morphed into a national scandal involving gender-based violence, impunity, military ethics, justice, and media backlash.
🎥 This full-length documentary reconstructs the events minute-by-minute:
the Rawbank chaos
the armed response
the controversial arrest that shocked the nation
the firestorm of viral videos, analysis, and firsthand testimonies.
We then follow the dual judicial saga:
• Trial of the soldiers (charges include rape, indecent assault, failure to intervene, misconduct, and moral indecency) before the Military Court of Kinshasa/Gombe;
• Trial of the robbers (armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and “terrorism”), with Honorine Porche at the center.
Beyond the sensational headlines, this film dives deep into Congo’s structural issues:
urban insecurity in Kinshasa, the roles of the FARDC and PNC, women’s treatment in justice systems, official crisis communication, social media’s responsibility, and the power of viral video as legal evidence — all shaping the international image of the DRC.
