This activity uses evidence-based interventions and core words to teach how to hear, process, produce, and practice the 3 kinds of R: Initial, Vowel, and R-blend. The "Project" is broken down into 5-6 stations. The SLP will administer the stations in order by reading the directions and the targets to build skills of attending to auditory bombardment, auditory discrimination, practicing with mindful movement, coarticulation, minimal pairs, and practicing in increased hierarchies. The project can be used over and over again to teach and reinforce these skills over several speech therapy sessions, and can be used for a variety of student performance levels especially students who are just starting their "R" journey.
Running through the stations could take 7-10 minutes.
