An entire community rallied behind her, resulting in her earning over $72,000 dollars through crowdfunding sites like Gofundme and charities of generous people wanting to help a person in need. However, people soon began to catch onto Lucy's lie as many inconsistencies would reveal her fraudulent scheme.
